HOUSEWORK POSES A DANGER TO LIFE

Hope you had a lovely weekend? I'm not sure who I'm saying that to, but there it is (is there anyone actually reading this nonsense?)

Yesterday I poisoned myself. Chlorine inhalation, no less. How, I hear you ask? Cleaning my sodding bathroom, that's how. I had bought some cleaning spray for mould and decided to go to town on our shower tiles while James took Beau to the park to feed the ducks. Now before any housework begins, firstly I must ensure I have the right music to get me through it. So firstly I spent half an hour sitting on my bathroom step creating a new playlist. If you hate housework (as I do) I promise you that having a great playlist makes it an infinitely more enjoyable task. Some staple songs from my list are:

Pharrell - Happy

Picture this: I'm in my pants and my leopard print fleece pyjama shirt, sleeves rolled up, scrubbing my grout with a toothbrush, dancing to this tune. Amazing, I think you'll agree :o) 

Lorde - Royals

She's a sassy little thing, and I'm becoming a fan

Snoop & Pharrell - Lets Get Blown

This is one of my favourite songs to clean to...I swear if anyone ever saw me I would give them the biggest laugh of their lives...you really have to get into it :o)

Donny Hathaway - This Christmas

Now, I know it's January. It is very much not Christmas anymore, but I just flipping love this song. This will be on my playlist on a beach in august, I'm telling you. 

Darwin Deez - (800) Human

You've gotta have some Darwin Deez in there. They are my favourite band of current times, I've seen them 4 or 5 times live and would see them another 4 or 5 too given half the chance. I saw them when I was about 6 months pregnant and got pulled in front of the barrier by the security dude when the crown started surging forwards. The perks of being a fatty!

Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko - Stay 

I'm not a huge Rihanna fan, but I can't get enough of this song

NSYNC feat. Nelly - Girlfriend

I was a HUGE NSYNC fan growing up, and they are still up there with my faves. All these crappy 90's bands are reforming these days and I'm mostly uninterested, but if NSYNC reformed? Well that would be a game changer for sure.

Amy Winehouse feat. Nas - Like Smoke

Have you heard this though?? We miss you Amy, what a talent.

I could happily list every single song on the list as it was  t h a t  good, but I'm guessing that if anyone actually did start reading this post, you switched off some time ago (or got lost creating a wonderful cleaning playlist of your own). So now I'm just talking to myself, and I already know how good my taste in music is...talk about preaching to the converted!

But as a warning before I go...if you ever decide to use a crap ton of Cillit Bang spray for black mould and get all up in there with a tooth brush...open the windows as wide as they will go BEFORE you start, and even then, stop after every song on your amazing playlist to stick your head out of the window for a breath of fresh air. I woke up this morning with aching lungs and a sore throat...but sparkling white tile grout on the plus side!
