Brrrrr

So it would appear that winter has arrived. Holy smokes, it is cold.

It seems to have come from nowhere. Two days ago I went out without a coat on. Yesterday, I froze my well insulated butt off going out in 4 layers, one being a thick woolen coat.

We went out for dinner last night. We haven't been out for dinner in a VERY long time. I can't even remember the last time.

James' mum babysat and we trotted off to Hotel Du Vin with a voucher we had been given by my sister for Christmas. Hotel Du Vin is a little bit fancy, and let me tell you, dressing for a fancy-ish dinner when it is sub-zero outside is no easy task. When we arrived, the guy at reception took my coat and scarf but I wished I had kept them on, instead of shivering and sitting on my hands throughout the meal.

Anyway, it was nice (apart from James' scallops starter, which was quite horrendous) and the conversation was quite hilarious. There was a couple sitting at my 10 o'clock which we were trying to work out whether they were a) father and daughter b) rich man and gold digger or c) rich man and lady of the night. My money was on b. And we never did get to find out the answer. We also played the best/most inappropriate game ever "which of my friends is at the top of your "list" and which is at the bottom?" I was quite surprised by James' answers...you learn something new every day! 

When we got home I checked in on the little dude and paused a while to drink in his peaceful little baby snores...he is my favourite human in the whole wide world, 24/7, but I do love him just that little bit harder when he's sleeping. I can't wait to give him a little brother or sister, hopefully soon, and feel my heart swell all over again to love another little person more than I ever thought possible.
