I haven't posted here for over 6 months...but to be fair I have a pretty good reason. On December 27th 2010 I found out that I'm pregnant! James and I are expecting our baby on September 5th 2011 and the last 4 months have been somewhat of a blur...
This is a picture of the 12 week scan. It looks like pretty much ever other scan photo I've ever seen, so for everyone else I fully appreciate it's a complete bore but for me it's pretty bloody amazing :o)
I'm now 22 weeks pregnant, and we decided not to find out the sex of the baby, so when baby Culmer arrives it will be a nice surprise either way when we find out if it's a little me or a little James. My mum is adamant it's a girl, James is guessing it'll be a boy, and my brothers' only request is that they can teach it to be good at sports whichever sex it may be. Speaking of my family, I've always known it but since I've been pregnant it has really become more and more apparent to me that I have the best family anyone could ever ask for. They have been so supportive right from day one, despite us not being in the most ideal situation to have a baby, and they have all helped us out in so many kind and generous ways that it has kind of taken my breath away. I am such a lucky girl having these amazing people in my life, and at the risk of making you reach for the sick bag one last time, I love them all more than I can even comprehend. I can't wait to welcome our baby into my family, where I know it will be spoilt rotten with love and affection :o)
Just in case it come up in future posts and I forget to explain, the family nickname for our unborn baby is Pterodactyl, or Terra for short. Possibly the most bizarre nickname anyone has ever given their baby but my little brother Sheepy came up with it the first day I told him I was pregnant and it kind of stuck...and I actually kind of love it.
Hope all is well, sending honks from NYC :)
